DETROIT (WKZO) — A recent Wayne State University study shows the dangers of consumption of energy drinks, especially for young children.
The study found that from October 2010 through September 2013 there were nearly 48-hundred calls to poison control centers with concerns about energy drink consumption. More than half of those calls pertained to children under six-years-old accidentally drinking the product.
As of about a week ago, DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan banned the drinks from its vending machines and other hospitals are expected to follow suit.
