NEW BUFFALO (WKZO) — Fingerprints from an arrest in Chicago are credited with helping Michigan State Police and the FBI identify a woman’s body found in New Buffalo Township on Sunday.
An autopsy done in Grand Rapids Monday revealed a preliminary cause of death, but authorities are waiting for toxicology test results before revealing that. The victim’s name is also being withheld, as police are working to contact family members.
Investigators note there were no outward signs of trauma, leading them to believe her body was dumped near the railroad tracks just a few miles north of the Indiana border after she died elsewhere.
