DETROIT (WKZO) — Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is offering city workers and retirees a 50-percent discount on houses that are purchased through the Detroit Land Bank’s auction.
The discount will be applied after the person makes the winning bid. The goal is to entice city workers, retirees and their families to live in the city.
Under the program, the buyer has to agree to live in the house for at least three years or they will pay a penalty. The Land Bank auctions off two homes each day.
