DETROIT (WKZO) — There will not be any advertisements during the Super Bowl for Chevrolet vehicles.
The automaker’s global chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney said Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that the brand will be sitting this game out. Mahoney said the reason is Chevy’s main vehicle introductions in 2015 will be in the second half of the year, so it didn’t make sense to spend the millions of dollars for ads during the NFL’s championship game.
General Motors will give a new Chevy Colorado pickup to the game’s Most Valuable Player, despite not airing ads on TV.
