COVERT (WKZO) — The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is calling a meeting with officials from Entergy Nuclear and the Palisades nuclear power plant next Tuesday to discuss a preliminary finding regarding occupational radiation dose limits for workers at the plant. According to the NRC, Palisades did not ensure the radiation dose workers in a high-radiation area were exposed to during a refueling outage last February and March was accurately measured.
The preliminary evaluation by the NRC is the violation was of “low to moderate safety significance,” and no actions against Palisades will be taken at the meeting next week.
