BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — A vacant home blew up and then the shattered remains caught fire Saturday evening in Battle Creek.
Fire crews were called out to 24 Lamora after neighbors reported that an explosion had rattled the neighborhood.
Firefighters found the walls of the home had blown out and the rubble had caught on fire.
The owner says the home had been up for sale and was undergoing repairs and improvements.
It’s a total loss.
There were no injuries, just a lot of shaken nerves.
A preliminary investigation suggests a gas leak was the likely cause. It will be investigated.
