KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo Township Supervisor Ron Reid says he thinks state officials would be making a mistake to consider the township’s successful bond issue to fund road repairs Tuesday a good sign for their own road vote in the Spring.
Reid says they gave voters a simple question. Approve a few extra mils and fix the roads.
He says the State vote is far more complex and hardly compares. Further clouding the issue was the other road vote that took place on Tuesday in Muskegon.
The head of the Michigan Campaign Finance Network is looking at that failed road millage as a more accurate preview of the statewide vote in May.
Rich Robinson says the more than two-to-one margin of defeat for the Muskegon County millage shows Governor Snyder will have to work very hard to sell the sales tax hike to the public
