LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state film tax incentive program that now-Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland had sponsored while in the state House could be coming to an end soon. The House Tax Policy Committee plans to vote next week on a bill that would sunset the program and end the 50 million-dollar annual investment. Proponents say that the incentives have created jobs and improved the state’s image. Opponents cite the lack of full-time job creation and say other needs, such as roads, take priority.
