BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — A little bit of Hollywood Glamour came to the Cereal City yesterday as the debut of the new “Battle Creek” TV series was staged, black tie, red carpet and all at Kellogg Auditorium.
The original script for the series was rejected 13-years ago when no one had heard of Gilligan, but then he struck lightning with “Breaking Bad” and CBS gave the green light to 13-episodes of the detective series without seeing a pilot.
Police Chief Jim Blocker was particularly impressed with the fact that the department they portray is cash strapped. He said it also authentically portrayed some of the other obstacles and challenges they face.
The Reviews from those who saw it last night were very favorable. They called it funny and entertaining.
The network debut is Sunday night at 10.
