DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Domestic automakers are weighing in with strong January sales figures. First to report was FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group, which reported a 14% overall increase for the month compared with the same period last year. Highlights included an 87% jump in dodge Challenger sales and Jeep Cherokee sales increasing by 44%.
Ford sales in the U.S. reportedly rose by 15%. Retail passenger sales were up by 6% while utilities saw an increase and trucks gained 23%. January sales for GM were up by 18%. This included a 29% jump for GMC, a 25% rise in Silverado sales and a 3% increase for Cadillac.
