FLINT, MI (WHTC) – The state Department of Health and Human Services reports that 30 out of over 13 hundred Flint residents tested since October 1st had elevated blood lead levels. Of that 30, 21 were those age 17 or younger. It was the first summary report on lead testing called for in the state’s action plan related to health concerns about the Buick City’s water infrastructure. Free water filters and replacement cartridges are still being made available to Flint residents by the state after tests this fall found high lead levels among children, caused mainly by a municipal switch to local water sources last year.
