DES MOINES (WKZO) — Detroit native Ben Carson is gaining on Donald Trump in Iowa.
The retired neurosurgeon is five points behind Trump in the latest Bloomberg Politics/”Des Moines Register” poll.
Trump has 23 percent support with Carson sitting at 18 percent.
When first and second choices are the only two polled, the two are tied in the state that hosts the first 2016 balloting contest.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker each share third place with eight percent support.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush each had six percent.
