SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO) — Three Van Buren County Teens who are charged with an assault on a Jewish summer camp in late July, have now been identified and charged.
The two 18-year-olds and a 20-year-old left behind spray painted Swastikas painted on several objects, including a car, a picnic table and the sign that greets people at the street, at Camp Aguhda near South Haven. The vandals were all from the area.
The attack also left behind a lot of uncertainty because it was unclear whether this was a warning from a hate group that might return and do something more serious, or was it just the work of thoughtless vandals.
They apparently believe it was the later because the four suspects have not been charged with a hate crime. They are charged with four misdemeanors, one for each swastika they left behind.
Dakota Burnett, Xavier Mulac and Cody Emelander have each been charged with four counts of Malicious destruction of property and freed on bond. They have been ordered to stay away from the camp, from alcohol, from bars and from guns as a condition of their bond.
