GRAND HAVEN BEACH (WKZO) — Despite the red flag warnings and the spectacle of huge waves smashing up on west Michigan beaches, two teenagers had to be pulled from the water at Grand Haven by a surfer named Zeb Boeskool who says he was just doing what anyone else would do in his situation.
One of the girls,a 14-year-old was treated and released, a second, a 13-year-old was admitted initially in serious condition.
She was not breathing and had to be revived. She has since been upgraded to stable at North Ottawa Hospital.
The big waves also trapped the Pearl Mist Cruiseliner in the harbor at Holland an extra day. The cruise ship finally steamed out, bound for Mackinac Island late yesterday afternoon, leaving behind some fond memories and unanticipated tourist income in its wake.
