NORTON SHORES (WKZO)– The Investigators looking into the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa are no closer to making an arrest than they were the day after she disappeared.
It was two years this Sunday that the young mother was snatched from a Norton Shores gas station where she worked the night shift.
Investigator Michael Kasher tells TV-8 that they were investigating Kalamazoo rapist Brad Mason, until he was killed by Public Safety in what appeared to be a suicide by cop.
Mason became the prime suspect in the abduction and rape of a woman in the Westnedge Hill neighborhood in February of last year and was gunned down in front of his downtown apartment building after he pointed a realistic air-gun at officers.
Now they may never know.
A 25-thousand dollar reward is still available for credible information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
