LOWELL (WKZO)– You can never replace the original but the Whites Bridge Historical Society has raised enough money to build a replica of the original covered wooden bridge near Lowell that was burned by an arsonist in 2013.
They have raised a quarter million through donations and MDOT is committing 275-thousand dollars to the project.
It should be enough money to replicate the wooden structure, add lighting and a security system.
They never caught the arsonist who torched the original bridge.
