DIAMOND LAKE (WKZO) — There has been a happy ending to a missing person’s case.
A 46-year-old fisherman missing on Diamond Lake since last Wednesday has been found alive on Diamond Island, not far from where his abandoned pontoon boat was found on Saturday.
It was feared that Kurt DeYoung had fallen overboard, trying to repair the motor on the boat. He was off his meds and possibly drunk and incoherent when he was found and taken to the hospital.
He told deputies that he found an unlocked door on a summer home and climbed in to get out of the cold and doesn’t remember much after that.
He chowed down a hamburger upon arriving at Emergency, he was not able to give many details about the last 6 days, except that he had not eaten.
