DETROIT (WKZO) -- Dan Akerson, the former head of General Motors, says he does not believe that his successor knew about ignition switch problems that prompted a major recall before she took the job as CEO. He says Mary Barra confronted the problem the moment she found out about it. In the "Detroit News,"
Akerson is quoted saying, "She didn't know about it. I bet my life on it." That issue led to the recall of more than 2.5-million vehicles and was linked to 13 death and 47 crashes.
