Yankee Captain Derek Jeter receives check for $22,222.22 for the foundation and the big tile artwork.

NEW YORK (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo’s Derek Jeter is making his victory lap around the stadiums of Major League Baseball, as he plans to retire at the end of the season, and in a show of good sportsmanship, he has been getting gifts from rival ball clubs at his last game in each city.

Yesterday the Mets awarded him with a large mosaic of the Number 2 made from authentic subway tiles, to commemorate their subway series and a check for over 22-thousand for the Turn-2 Foundation.

He says the most memorable games were the Mets-Yankees World Series.

It may not be the best memory for the Mets. Jeter was the MVP in that series.
