Michigan State University breaks ground on nuclear science facility

EAST LANSING (WKZO) -- Ground was broken Monday in East Lansing on Michigan State University’s long-awaited nuclear science facility. The Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, or FRIB, will be completed in 2022 and be the most powerful such facility on Earth. It will build on work already done at MSU at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory since 1981 and will also have an estimated one-billion dollar benefit to the state economy.
