KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo City Commissioner Stephanie Moore has announced that she will be running for the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners. The seat for the county's District 1 is being vacated by retiring County Commissioner Carolyn Alford.
Moore has served on the Kalamazoo City Commission since 2007, having previous received endorsements from the United Auto Workers, the Michigan Education Association, the Home Builders Association, the Western Michigan University Democrats, and many others. In a statement from Moore, Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell added that he is supporting Moore's bid for the County Board and encourages others to vote for her this coming August.
Moore intends to officially kick off her campaign on Thursday, March 27th at 5:30 p.m. at The Gatsby on West Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo.
