WAYLAND (WKZO) -- A teenager from Middleville may face some serious charges, if he survives his injuries, after he led Barry County Deputies on a chase early Saturday morning and allegedly caused a collision that left a second man dead.
Deputies first spotted the speeding teen and tried to pull him over, but he fled until he reached the intersection of Bass and Patterson Roads near the Allegan County Border.
That’s where deputies say he ran a stop sign with his SUV and slammed into a car that had the right of way.
Deputies say the impact of the crash killed the other driver, 24-year-old Mazariegos Ramirez, a farm worker on his way to his job.
The suspect, 19-year-old Matthew Nosanov of Middleville as was ejected from his SUV and rushed to a Grand Rapids Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies believe alcohol was involved but are waiting for toxicology tests.
