PAW PAW (WKZO) -- An Illinois man has been sentenced to eleven years in prison for a stabbing death that occurred in Van Buren County last year. 38 year old William Stephens will serve between 142 and 270 months in prison after being convicted of manslaughter in a Van Buren County court. Prosecutors say that 20 year old Trey Yarbrough, of Kalamazoo, was killed on October first of last year at the Lakeside Inn near Paw Paw, possibly after he'd been accused of stealing from Stephens. At first, Stephens had been charged with open murder, but his lawyers successfully requested that he face the lesser charge of manslaughter, according to MLive. His trial was held in April.
