KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The convicted killer in a Kalamazoo cold case homicide has been given life in prison without parole for the 1993 shooting death of robbery victim Lois Cox.
44-year-old Grady Shields made the mistake that most killers do, they just can’t keep their mouths shut. Over the years, they say things that are later used against them in court.
Shields was convicted last month of killing Lois Cox during a botched robbery at her Staples Avenue Business.
Her bullet riddled body was found nearly a week later in her car in Three Rivers.
In a statement made before sentencing, Shields denied his guilt.
