NORMANDY (WKZO) -- The Lakeshore Lancers High School Band has been playing their way across Normandy, and spreading sand as they go.
The band was invited to the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion because they had also performed at the dedication of the World War II monument in Washington.
They return to south west Michigan on Tuesday.
They have took vials of sand from west Michigan Beaches to be delivered to the graves of Michigan Soldiers buried in Cemeteries along the Coast of France.
They peformed in D-Day ceremonies and marched in a victory parade Saturday.
