DETROIT (WKZO)- It was a pitcher's duel through eight innings and then both teams offense came to life with the Toronto Blue Jays offense producing a little more as they defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-3.  Anibal Sanchez pitched another gem going seven innings giving up no runs on two hits while striking out five.

The Tigers tried to fight back in the bottom of the ninth as they drew two walks before J.D. Martinez hit a three run home run to cut the Blue Jays lead to 5-3.  The next batter Don Kelly struck out on three pitches to end the game.

Before Martinez's home run, the Tigers had been held scoreless for 19 2/3 innings.
