KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Black Arts Festival is this week in Kalamazoo. The annual event to begins on Thursday at eleven AM in Bronson Park with Kids Day, says organizer Yolanda Lavender.
"It's eleven AM to four PM, ages six to 17," Lavender told WKZO. "There will be lots of carnival games and educational games. We're going to have a station where they can create protest signs, about things that they view as important to them. We'll also do a march around Bronson Park, just to give them a voice."
The rest of the week continues at Bronson Park, with everything wrapping up on Sunday with Gospel in the Park from eleven AM to six PM. The annual White Party is set for Saturday at Brosnon Park, and tickets are 25 dollars each. You can find the full schedule for the festival at BlackArtsKalamazoo.org.
