KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A group of graduate engineering students at WMU are working on a football helmet that could tell when a player suffers a concussion.
Sensors in the helmet would communicate with an APP on a smart phone to tell team doctors if a player has suffered an impact sufficient to cause a concussion.
They say it would also record details about the impact for review later.
The inventors also think it could also have applications in Military helmets for the treatment of soldiers caught in bomb blasts.
The Students say the device still needs work and they are looking for an angel investor to help them make it marketable.
