PALOS HILLS, ILLINOIS (WKZO) -- Good news for a former WMU Volleyball player who used her athleticism to earn a spot on the U.S. National Bobsledding team.
When they were picking members for the Olympic team Sunday Katie Eberling was left off the list, replaced by an Olympic sprinter with a more enticing media profile.
Wednesday, Eberling was told she will get to make the trip to Sochi after all as the team’s alternate brakeman.
If any of the others twist an ankle or get the flu, she might just win a medal.
She will train with the team, help them load and unload the sleds and sand the runners.
