LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Department of Transportation is reminding the drivers of private snow plows and motorists to be cautious during extreme winter weather conditions.
MDOT officials say the driver of a private plow was pushing snow onto a roadway and caused the driver of a state plow to lose control and crash. In a second incident this week, a motorist driving too fast for conditions hit the rear of a MDOT plow and disabled the truck.
Officials are reminding private plow drivers it is against the law to push snow from private property into a road. They also remind residents not to pile snow at the end of the driveway so high that it reduces visibility.
