KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Transit Authority Vice-Car Jeremy Orr has announced that he is running for the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners. Orr has in recent years worked with Kalamazoo-based nonprofit organization ISAAC, and a press release says that he worked as a Community Organizer from 2011 to 2013 to help arrange advocacy efforts concerning education funding, affordable housing, youth drug prevention, environmental justice, and public transportation.
Orr is currently completing his law degree at the Michigan State University College of Law. He intends to kick off a listening tour to launch his campaign later this month.
The seat Orr is seeking is being vacated by Commissioner Dave Buskirk, who intends to run for the Michigan House of Representatives.
