LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan legislature gets back to work on Wednesday, and State Representative Sean McCann says that he looks forward to getting down to serious business as soon as Governor Rick Snyder's given his annual State of the State address next month. McCann thinks the next legislative session will be viewed as an important one, since there are several issues that weren't resolved last year, and elections are coming up.
McCann tells us that he expects the big issues in Lansing this year to be passing the budget with some tax relief while still adding more funding for roads and education. He thinks Michigan's lingering problem with unemployment is also a matter that needs to be addressed.
Also in the next year, McCann will be running for the State Senate in the 20th District. That's the district now represented by State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker, who will instead be running in the newly formed 26th District next year.
