KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Coming soon to Kalamazoo Valley Museum, it's a chance for musicians in the area to shine. On March seventh, Kalamazoo Valley Museum will host the Fretboard Festival Play-In Contest, a sort of guitar competition that will enable one lucky player to get a 60 minute gig during the 2014 Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival. Kalamazoo Valley Museum's Bill McElhone says that it ought to be a lot of fun.
"It's an open invitation for bands, any band that has stringed instruments, or single musicians, to come in and play," McElhone told WKZO. "We have eleven bands and musicians that will come in next Friday and play for the play-in contest."
The Fretboard Festival Play-In Contest is on Friday, March seventh, and it's set to run from six to eight PM. Attendance is free.
