March Proclaimed as Food and Agriculture Month in Michigan

UNDATED (WHTC) -- March has been proclaimed as “Food and Agriculture Month” in Michigan by Governor Rick Snyder.  Snyder said, quote, “Michigan’s food and agriculture businesses are on the grow-generating $96 billion in total economic activity each year.”  More than 52-thousand farms across the state produce some 300 food and agricultural commodities each year and lead the nation in several categories, including tart cherries and blueberries.  Michigan ranks fourth across the country in farmers markets and is home to 101 wineries and dozens of micro-breweries.
