PAW PAW (WKZO) -- Marijuana charges against a former middle school teacher in Paw Paw have been dropped. Scot Granke had been facing felony charges in Van Buren County for growing more marijuana plants than his state issued license allowed. He was arrested in August after his estranged wife reported his medical marijuana operation in Bangor.
Originally, Granke was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possessing an unlicensed handgun, and manufacturing hash, among other things. However, this week, those charges have been dropped, and he's instead pleaded guilty to being a school employee and failing report a felony arrest to his employer.
Granke could still get two years in prison. He was put on leave from his job at Paw Paw Middle School when he was first arrested, and he resigned in December.
