KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Employees of Kalsee Credit Union this week succeeded in their effort to break a world record. Kalsee, as part of its campaign to raise money to buy protective vests for the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety's K9s, went for the world record on Monday for most coins tossed into a bucket within one minute.
On hand for the record attempt at Bronson Athletic Club was a representative of Guinness World Records, who confirmed that the Kalsee employees broke the record, with 869 coins. They had one minute to toss the coins into a five gallon bucket from nine feet away.
MLive also reports that Kalsee was able to raise about 73 hundred dollars for the police dogs, enough to buy them ten new protective vests.
