SOCHI, RUSSIA (WKZO) -- Detroit Red Wings and Team Sweden Captain Henrik Zetterberg will miss the remainder of the Olympic Games in Sochi with a herniated disc in his lower back.

Zetterberg told a Swedish newspaper this injury has bothered him all season and he will have to wait a week or so to return to Detroit because it's too painful to sit on a long flight.

Red Wings officials say Zetterberg may need season-ending surgery when he returns.
