LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Snyder is praising all those involved in capturing an escaped quadruple murderer. Michael Elliot, who was serving a life sentence, escaped from the Ionia Correctional Facility on Sunday and was captured Monday in Indiana.
"The swift apprehension of this dangerous criminal is a credit to law enforcement and corrections officials in Michigan and Indiana," says Snyder, "and our partners with the U.S. Marshals Service."
Snyder says that now the attention will be on thoroughly reviewing the situation that let to Elliot’s escape and take whatever appropriate action is needed to prevent future incidents.
