HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- State Police are looking for witnesses to a Thursday morning crash that killed a mother and her son in Hartford Township.
It happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Red Arrow Highway near 70th Street just east of the Casino.
Arriving officers found two cars, a 2007 Honda and a 2009 Ford that had been involved in a head-on collision at highway speeds.
The 66-year-old driver of the Honda, a man from Waterviliet, and his 91-year-old mother were both pronounced dead soon after arrival at Lakeland Hospital.
The driver of the Ford, a 70-year-old from Hartford was listed in stable condition. All were wearing seatbelts.
Their names are being withheld pending notification of family.
Accident reconstructionists are working the case but could use and any eyewitness accounts. The crash shut down Red Arrow for several hours.
