SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO)-- A Fennville man who was arrested for driving drunk with his family on board now faces multiple counts.
He was spotted late Saturday night by a Van Buren County Deputy and pulled over on Phoenix Road near the Blue Star Highway in South Haven for not wearing his seat belt.
The Deputy smelled alcohol when he walked up to the driver’s window.
The 29-year-old driver failed a dexterity test and was arrested on four counts of driving intoxicated with young children on-board.
The children were released to their mother, who was also in the car.
Child Protective Services will be supplied a report of the stop.
Additional officers have been deployed to watch out for drunk drivers through the Labor Day weekend.
