LANSING, MI (WTVB) - The MIRS news agency reports that a top Aide of Governor Snyder remains registered as a voter in Illinois, despite running in the primary to be a Michigan party delegate. They also say that Richard Baird received homeowner deductions on homes in both Illinois and Michigan, and may owe Michigan $12,000 in back taxes.
Democrat Party Chair Lon Johnson and the campaign of gubernational candidate Mark Schauer are calling for investigations and charges. Baird says they were over sights and he will correct them.
Baird has been in the news before over his connections to the now defunct and controversial NERD fund, and dealings with the Governor’s cousin over furniture contracts.
