KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Two men were arrested this week in Kalamazoo for possession of concealed weapons. Both arrests occurred Monday night in two seperate incidents. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that officers were dispatched to the 17 hundred block of East Main around 10:30 on a report of a disturbance. When they got there, they found a minor in possession of alcohol, and when they approached him, the officers noticed the boy toss something in the grass. The officers determined it was a gun, and he was arrested.
A little while later, police patrolling the 13 hundred block of North Burdick Street spotted a man who appeared to be trying to avoid them. They say they chased him for about a block, caught up with him, and found a gun in his possession. The 23 year old now faces various charges. Police say the two incidents are not related.
