KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- An education conference is being held in Kalamazoo this week. The Leaning Network of Greater Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo Community Foundation will be sponsoring the gathering of local education workers to be held Thursday at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium. Amy Slancik, with the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, says that anyone who works in the field can come and mingle with their colleagues.
"It's a free three hour conference, and it's for everyone in Kalamazoo County who works in education," Slancik told WKZO. "So, any of those folks. Bus drivers, cafeteria workers. Any of those folks that want to come."
Of course, that also includes teachers. Presentations at the conference will cover things like educating inner city children and keeping a positive attitude on the job. The first thousand people to attend will win 50 dollar gift cards for school supplies. You can find out how to register at the website of Inspire Kalamazoo.
