DETROIT (WKZO) -- Mariners Pitcher James Paxton tossed six innings of one-run ball to lead Seattle in a 7-2 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park.
Paxton moved to 3-and-0 while Robinson Cano finished 2-for-4 with a solo homer.
Kyle Seager and Logan Morrison also had two hits and an RBI each as Seattle won its fifth straight.
The M's climbed a half-game ahead of Detroit for the second Wild Card spot in the AL.
Rick Porcello fell to 13-and-8 after pitching six innings and allowing six runs, five earned.
Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a run for the Tigers, who have lost five of seven.
