WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- A Michigan congressman is calling on his fellow lawmakers to get back to work. Democratic Congressman Dan Kildee says that members of the House hardly deserve a five week vacation, considering that there's a lot of work to be done.
"We haven't done our work yet," Kildee told WKZO. "We've got a transporation bill we have to deal with, we haven't really touched immigration reform, and we haven't touched a budget. They're kicking that down the road. We haven't dealt with an infrastructure bill, and we haven't really taken up the Make it in America bill, which is a manufacturing bill. So, my view is that we should have stayed."
Kildee also criticized the House Republican leadership for allowing the chamber to break for recess without addressing any serious issues and instead just voting to authorize a lawsuit against the president. The House leadership, though, blames the Democratic Senate for any progress on matters of importance.
