Here’s how to track runners and get instant results.
Before or after your event, just scan the QR code printed on your race bib with your Smartphone. It will take you to a page where you enter your race number and get individual splits and finish times for the marathon and results for the 5K and half marathon.
Sponsored by Borroughs Corporation, this new participant benefit will also allow you to share your results with your friends and family via social media platforms prior to results being officially posted online. To share, just go to the bottom of your page and push it out through mail, facebook or Twitter.
Or your friends can visit www.results.xacte.com and enter your number and get your results. The results are uploaded to the site every few minutes once runners start finishing. On the marathon at the half-way point and the 20-mile mark, the page is “populated” with times as they occur.
“This is the type of instant results people have been looking for,” says Joe O’Brien of Classic Race Management, the official scoring partner of the Kalamazoo Marathon and Borgess Run.
Runners are encouraged to scan their bib at the Saturday Expo and share the information through email, facebook or Twitter.
Any QR Code reading app will work. If you don’t have such an app for your smartphone, you can download one at www.scanlife.com/en/gl-apps.
