Muskegon River at historic level in Evart

EVART (WKZO) -- More flooding is coming along the Muskegon River as it has hit it's highest level ever in the Osceola County city of Evart.

The river hit 15 and a half feet Tuesday afternoon, more than six inches deeper than the previous record from 1989, and the water continues to rise. Evart Fire Chief Shane Helmer says they're not sure where the water will go, and they're urging people to evacuate immediately.

Muskegon County officials are also pressuring people living along the river to get out now.
