UNDATED (WHTC) -- While April 15th is the deadline to pay your 2013 taxes, April 17th is Tax Freedom Day in the state of Michigan. A release from taxfoundation.org says Michigan’s Tax Freedom Day, the day on which state residents have collectively earned enough income to pay off their total federal, state and local tax bill, arrives on April 17th this year, making Michigan the 28th state to reach Tax Freedom Day. Also, national Tax Freedom Day falls on April 21st, three days later than last year. And here’s a depressing thought: the release also says Americans will spend more on taxes in 2014 than they will on food, clothing and housing combined.
