UNDATED (WHTC) -- Potholes are everywhere and now that they are uncovered, work crews will be working to fill them in and make other necessary repairs. In recognition of the repair crews, this week is National Work Zone Awareness Week. Statewide work zone crash statistics released by M-DOT show that the number of serious injuries in Michigan work zones has risen dramatically, increasing from 57 in 2012 to 107 in 2013. The Michigan State Police Department says drivers must slow down, be alert and stay attentive when traveling through work zones.
