KALAMAZOO (WKZO) --Still no sign of a man reported missing in the Asylum Lake Preserve.Search teams were out until dark Friday night.

They were using two different sonar devices to try and locate a body in the lake. One was a more traditional type connected to machines on the surface by wires. A second is remotely controlled and permits them to do a 360 degree sweep.

The missing man has been identified as 56-year-old Takashi Sugimori, the husband of a Kalamazoo College Professor, and the father of a college senior at the school. He is presumed dead.

The family is asking for privacy at this challenging time.

His wife reported that he went cross country skiing in the preserve on Wednesday. '

They found his car parked at the small lot for visitors.

She reported him missing on Thursday when he did not return home.

Shifting ice is keeping divers out of the water.

The search will resume on Saturday.
